Adona Sheaffer-Zekany
grew up around the race track. She worked as a young
girl exercising race horses at a off-track training facility. She
quickly moved into starting two year olds for several owners. At the
age of 14 she was co-managing the 20+ stall facility, being in charge of
the majority of the horses stabled there.
In 1994, Adona moved to Rothsville, PA and found herself
at the Lancaster Polo Club where she fell in love with the game.
This is where she met Tim. In a short amount of time Adona
picked up
the game and began to study what went into making a good polo pony.
Over the last 11 years she has grown as a trainer of polo horses and as an
honest business woman in the polo world. Adona is noted for "having
an eye for good horses."
Now Adona manages Big Tree Farm with help from Tim and
their daughters, where she continues to train young polo horses. She
strives to above all else put out a even minded, well rounded, obedient
mount. She has a way of bringing the best of each horse to the
surface and showcasing each individuals talents.
